How is statutory redundancy pay calculated?

Statutory redundancy is calculated based on three factors: your age during each year of service, your length of service (capped at 20 years), and your weekly gross pay (capped at £719 for 2025/26). The number of weeks' pay you receive per year of service depends on your age:

Age during that year of serviceWeeks' pay per year
Under 22½ week's pay
22 to 401 week's pay
41 and over1½ weeks' pay

The maximum statutory redundancy pay for 2025/26 is £21,570 (20 years × 1.5 weeks × £719).
